Jaji wa Mahakama mjini New York amefuta kesi ya tuhuma za ngono kwa aliyekuwa mkurugenzi wa Shirika la Fedha Duniani, Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Hatua hiyo imekuja wakati waendesha mashtaka walitilia shaka uaminifu wa mwanamke anayemshtaki, ambaye ni mhudumu wa hoteli moja, Nafissatou Diallo , mwenye umri wa miaka 32.

Bw Strauss-Kahn mwenye umri wa miaka 62, alituhumiwa kumshambulia mwanamke huyo, mhamiaji kutoka Afrika, mwezi wa Mei wakati alipokuwa akiingia chumbani kwake kukisafisha.

Hukumu hiyo inamaanisha kuwa sasa Bw Strauss-Kahn yuko huru, japo bado anakabiliwa na kesi nyingine dhidi ya Bi Diallo.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest peak in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world has been nominated as a candidate for the seven natural wonders of the world, in a competition organised by an organisation known as Seven Natural Wonders in which tourist attractions from all over the world are voted to nominated as The Seven Natural wonders of The World.

Tanzania will gain much publicity from being listed in the new list of Seven Natural wonders of the World and will be able to use this opportunity to promote Mt. Kilimanjaro as being in Tanzania.

Out of the 28 contestants which have made it to this stage, only two nominations are from Africa, these being Mt. Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) and Table Mountain (South Africa). There is fierce competition between the two African destinations.

Voting trends have shown that most people who are voting for Mount Kilimanjaro are those residing outside the country and that very few Tanzanian residents are voting for Mt. Kilimanjaro unlike the case for Table Mountain where large numbers of South Africans are taking participation in voting for Table Mountain.

We (TTB) would like to urge Tanzanians (in and out of Tanzania), friends and patrons worldwide to vote for Mount Kilimanjaro so that it becomes one of the New Seven Natural Wonders Of The World.

Bunge la Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania limeamua kuunda Kamati maalum itakayochunguza sakata la Katibu Mkuu Kiongozi Philomeni Luhanjo kutangaza matokeo ya uchunguzi tuhuma za Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Nishati na madini David Jairo na kumrejesha kazini kabla ya matokeo ya uchunguzi wa tuhuma kujadiliwa Bungeni.

Bw. Jairo alirejea leo ofisini kufuatia amri ya katibu mkuu kiongozi Philemon Luhanjo kwa madai ya kuwa hana hatia katika sakata hilo,chini ni baadhi ya matukio wakati anarejea na kupokelewa kwa shangwe na wafanyakazi w wizara huyo kabla bunge halijabatilisha hatua hiyo.....
